I'm the Story Advisor of LAINAVERSEworks.
I'm also the Podcast Host of my Audio Newsletter 'the art of Biz + Chill' and an emerging Travel UGC Creator.
Before all of that, I am a Multitalented Artist who still carries the dream of being an Animation Director of my own original films. Aside from drawing and writing my stories for my Speculative Fiction Brand for Black Ladies, I offer services that help me refine my leadership and team management skills.
So how does Fintech fit into all of this?
Well, I had a solid run cultivating my plethora of experiences in the highly regulated Cannabis + Hemp Industries since August 2018. However, the cash flow issues with companies and payment processing restrictions felt too restricting.
I joined that industry as a Blog Writer and medical patient for Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Chronic Back Pain from Scoliosis. I even dabbled with Psychedelics, Mushrooms and Adaptogens for my own wellness while I grew as a Content Marketer, then Strategist over the years.
FinTech first appeared on my radar around 2022 when I was exploring Sketch Noting as a potential service. I was exploring using my lifelong Illustration skills to visualize complex concepts, but ultimately, decided against it.
Eventually, I learned about the value of Project Management, Executive Communication and Facilitating Workshops. I'd unintentionally been using these skills to manage my clients for years, but it was in Fall 2024 that I learned to translate this need among Company Teams into a viable service.
Eventually, my patience and interest in Cannabis ran out.
And on a whim at the beginning of 2026, I drafted a short story about a young Black Woman who retired herself from a career in Finance. She is an alternate universe version of myself had I been more money savvy and career-conscious as a teen.
That got me thinking...
Why not make this idea into a reality?
Money makes the world go round, after all. So why not get involved with the very source of how my past clients and customers have been paying me?
And I'm a very curious, brilliant woman:
Cannabis offered me a lot to learn as far as the plant science, wellness benefits and various consumption methods. That started getting stale though.
So in that vein, Fintech is providing me seemingly ENDLESS topics to understand while I handle the people-y side of things. It's fascinating to get under the hood of so many apps, systems and regulations that I've accessed my entire life, but didn't think to explore.
